    Welcome

    Principal:  Eileen Rygus

King Edward is a community school located in the heart of Old Strathcona. It draws a diverse student population, primarily from the university, arts, media, and Whyte Avenue business communities. Our students live in the immediate community and the school serves as an important centre of community life. King Edward School offers programming for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and Interactions Grades 1 to 6.  We provide space for the King Edward Child Care Centre, as well as providing a Fringe venue during the summer.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school

Please visit our Kindergarten Open House on January 25th from 6:00-7:00pm

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

Get ready for the 2024–25 school year! Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between February 1 and March 22 to select your child’s preferred school for next year.

Whether your child is staying at the same school or changing schools, all students need to pre-enrol. Knowing how many students to expect helps schools prepare to welcome them in September.

If you need help, contact the school or read the 2024-2025 Pre-enrolment poster

For the 2023 - 2024 school year, King Edward School is full in planned classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in the regular program. A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. We will only accept resident students in Grades 1 to 6 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.
