The Academy at King Edward was established in 1992 as a segregated site for students who meet district criteria for learning strategies. This Grade 2 to 12 program expanded the continuum of services available to students in Edmonton Public Schools.

King Edward Elementary is a strong community school located in the vibrant, historic, family oriented community of Strathcona. Students from kindergarten to grade 6 achieve high levels of academic success in an environment which supports continuity of programming and high levels of communication and contact between home and school.

News

"Smarter" Math Students

The students at the Academy at King Edward are developing 21st Century Literacy Skills.  The integration of technology into the school day is an everyday occurrence at the Academy at King Edward.  Students are using wireless laptops, document cameras and Smartboards as tools for learning in all curricular areas. 

The Smartboards have provided students with a new tool for demonstrating their problem solving skills.  Working with the Smartboards in the class has injected additional enthusiasm for math.
